Default Successful Trading

I am baffled as to how to trade succesfully. I have items worth money like my summit hammer that is max damage. I sit there for what seems like forever and just keep posting MAX DAMAGE SUMMIT HAMMER FOR 2K. And nobody seems to want to buy. My friend on the other hand had one that wasnt even max damage and he sold it for like 5k.

Help would be appriciated

Not many people are going to want to buy it for 2k. I usually sell clean weapons for about 1k, depending on their model. Simple supply/demand. Not many people want hammers, so sell it for 500-750 gold.

question - was his weapon a gold or purple weapon? Is your weapon white, blue, purple or gold?

You'll find that people will want to only buy "gold" weapons because they have this fixation that gold = best. It doesn't matter if your blue weapon of dooooooom has the exact same stats as someone else's gold butter knife... people will go for the gold weapon. Heck, your weapon could have better stats, be max damage and the other weapon 1 less than max with crummy mods... but if it's a "gold" weapon then people will want to buy that over your "garbage"

If your weapon is gold.. then state it is gold and you'll easily sell it... if it's purple.. you might be able to sell it.... if it's blue or white.. then forget it as no-one will buy it .. try starting a "WTS" thread here on these forums in the selling forum.. thats likely to be your best bet of selling it if it's not gold...

State the mods of your items and the requirement. Items that requires 10+ in X mastery normally sells harder (based on experience).

I have no idea what this fixation om gold weapons is for. All the ones I find are utter crap with a select few being usable. But what is this fascination of people with max damage wands and staffs. Its impossible to sell one that isn't max even though you shouldn't be attacking with your wand for the risk of breaking aggro off the warrior. Plus you only deal 3-7 damage anyways which isn't significant.

Sorry about ranting, its been building up for a long time.

I went into LA Dist 1 yesterday and spammed out a few lines about selling max damage, req 8, weapons for cheap prices so I could clear my inventory and not a single person responded. I don't think that people can actually read fast enough to see all the text that goes by in the trade channel. It's just stupid now.
